Smart Audio Sensor for Telemedicine
نویسندگان
چکیده
In order to improve patients’life conditions and to reduce the costs of long hospitalization, medicine is more and more interested in telemonitoring techniques. We develop a smart audio sensor for a telemonitoring system. This sensor is equipped with microphones in order to detect a sound event (an abnormal noise or a call for help). The sound extracted information is send through a CAN bus. The originality of our approach consists in replacing the video camera monitoring, which the patients are uncomfortable with, by microphones surveying the sounds. We present the hardware implementation, the software treatments and a first evaluation of the algorithms used.

A mobile telemedicine system for remote consultation in cases of acute stroke.
A mobile telemedicine system, capable of transmitting video and audio simultaneously, was designed for consulting acute stroke patients remotely. It could use a wireless local area network (e.g. inside the hospital) or a mobile phone network (e.g. outside the hospital). When initiating a call, the sending unit chose a suitable encoding profile based on the measured data throughput, in order to ...

Health Smart Homes are nowadays a very explored research area due to the needs for home automation and telemedicine to support people with loss of autonomy and also due to the evolution of the technology that has resulted in cheap and efficient sensors. However, many studies do not include tests in real setting, because data collection is this domain is very expensive and challenging and becaus...

| June 2015 | 627 In a study done by Verbunt and Bartneck, in 2010 entitled “tactile feedback for the prevention of decubitus ulcers,” a technology is defined which is able to diagnose patient’s inappropriate status and present an instruction to change his status. Changing status resulted in less risk of decubitus ulcer. This device includes a belt that receives a simple tap to a strong pressur...

This paper presents the necessity and possibility of smart sensing using a multitude of sensors such as audio and visual sensors for human movement detection for home-care and home security applications in a smart environment. We define an event and spatial relationship based approach to the problem. Use of multisensory information to even detection is proposed and its prototype implementation ...
